[dropcap type=”2″]P[/dropcap]erhaps I’m dating myself here, but when I hear the word “anticipation” I can’t help but think of the Carly Simon song from the 70s. One of the beautiful things about boudoir, and sensuality in general, is heightening the experience with anticipation. The build-up of things to come, whipping us into a frenzy so that when the time actually comes, we can’t stand it anymore–we must have it!
The power of the imagery is that we use our imagination, applying our own fantasies and experiences. Yet all of this is happening while showing nothing at all. To me, boudoir isn’t about what you’re wearing but more about what the image stirs up in the viewer’s mind. You can convey something sexy without showing anything more than a bare shoulder and back. An alluring expression draws you in, fantasies and all, and invites you to wonder what would happen if you came along.
Boudoir isn’t about what you’re wearing but more about what the image stirs up in the viewer’s mind.
Surely many of us have had experiences where the build-up was just as good as the experience itself. We find ourselves drunk with anticipation, taking pleasure in the delights of each thought and sensation. I’m drawn over and over to this image by her enticing gaze and delicate shoulder. She’s provocative. She’s bewitching. She’s seductive.
As I’ve posted before, I see your beauty even if you don’t. I incorporate this into your session, creating your own story of anticipation. Your unique beauty will generate excitement and allure.
